Hope Abounds: Who Will Let the Dogs Out

It’s not that people don’t care, it’s that people don’t know. This is why Cara Achterberg decided to put her storytelling skills into practice to create awareness of the reality of shelters in the south, after her own experience.

Cara is the President and CoFounder of Who Will Let the Dogs Out, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and 100% volunteer-run organization dedicated to raising awareness for homeless dogs and the heroes who fight for them, using journalism, photography, and film as their tools.
In today’s episode, Cara talks about how WALDO started, the importance media has in this industry, and why animals don’t belong in shelters.
