40+ Walmart Adoption Events, a Community Blanket Drive, and a Push to Find Forever Homes for Hundreds of Shelter Pets Before Winter
This six-week initiative running October 1st through November 15th, 2026, across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex will feature more than 40 adoption events hosted at Walmart Supercenter locations throughout DFW. Every Saturday and Sunday during the six-week window, CUDDLY will bring adoptable dogs and cats directly to local shoppers and families. Running alongside the events, CUDDLY is launching a community-wide blanket drive to collect new blankets, pet beds, and towels for shelter animals facing the colder months ahead, ensuring that every pet still waiting for a home has warmth and comfort while they wait.
“As temperatures start dropping across Texas, we want to make sure no shelter pet goes cold and no adoptable animal gets left behind,” said Karson Goldbach, CUDDLY’s Community Initiative Manager. “Fall Into Forever is about combining the power of community action with real, measurable outcomes for animals. Every event is an opportunity for a family to walk into Walmart and walk out with a new best friend.”

Alongside each adoption event, CUDDLY is mobilizing the broader DFW community to support local shelters through a coordinated blanket drive running the full length of the campaign. Community members are encouraged to bring the following items to any CUDDLY Walmart Adoption Event location:

- Pet beds
- Towels
All donated items are distributed directly to participating shelter and rescue partners in the DFW area, ensuring that animals still waiting for their forever homes are kept warm throughout the colder months. Items can also be donated online through the CUDDLY wishlist platform, which ships directly to shelters with zero overhead.
How Fall Into Forever Works
Every Saturday and Sunday from October 1st through November 15th, 2026, CUDDLY will host adoption events at Walmart Supercenter locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Each event runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and features adoptable animals from local shelter and rescue partners.
CUDDLY’s ambassador team is on-site at each event to engage shoppers, share adoption information, collect blanket drive donations, and facilitate connections between animals and potential adopters. Partner shelters bring their most adoptable animals, and CUDDLY handles logistics, promotion, and community outreach to drive attendance.
