How animals are treated can vary widely from culture to culture. When Dottie Cross discovered the desperate need for animal welfare reform in Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico she could not turn a blind eye.
Nearly a decade later, Dottie and her team at Fiona Animal Refuge of Hidalgo have transformed the relationship between animals and the community in Hidalgo. In this episode, Dottie shares how she has been able to raise funds, build a shelter, and work with a network of volunteers to save thousands of animals in Hidalgo and surrounding areas.
