Celebrities, they’re just like us! They are just as obsessed with their pets and there’s no shame in that.
From taking them on beautiful hikes, to even bringing them on their grocery trips, it’s as if they’re just “normal” people doing every day normal activities with their furry friends. Just because celebrities are famous doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy the everyday fun and love their fur-children give to them. Because in their pet’s eyes, they’re just their regular ol’ mom and dad.
Celebrities are just like us in the sense that they love to snuggle with their pets, take an over concerning amount of photos of their pets, and love showcasing them on their social media. But most of all, they love to love their pets just as much as we do.
Although Celebrities are the ones all over magazines, billboards, and TV, their beloved fur-children are the ones gaining our hearts and our attention. Many are even making headline news. Celebrities are just as obsessed with their pets as we are that some even count their pets as their plus one’s and have them join on the red carpet. The paparazzi must get a kick out of it, we know we would!
But the paparazzi aren’t the only ones trying to get a glimpse of celebrities on their pets. Check out some of our favorite celebrities obsessing over their furry loved ones.
Kaley Cuoco
Cuoco is known for her acting career but also achieved fame by pursuing her life-passion. Besides acting, she has a huge heart for animals. Cuoco’s love for animals began many years ago and her instagram account features pictures of her multitude of pets including many of her horses and dogs. If you’re ever in a low mood and need some furry animal content to cheer you up, make your way over to Kaley’s instagram! Kaley not only loves to post about her many animals, but she loves to mention them when she can…and she knows just how much she should be sharing about her beloved pets.
In an interview with Variety she was a bit scared to say how many animals she actually owned for fear of authorities taking her beloved fur-children away. When asked exactly how many she has she laughed and said “it’s an illegal amount.” Don’t worry Kaley, your secret is safe with us.
Kaley’s dog Norman was with her for 14 years and recently passed a few months back. Kaley admitted that Norman was her “entire world” and he is the one who started her obsession with animals. If it wasn’t for Norman, Kaley and her husband, Karl Cook, wouldn’t have their pitbull named Blueberry, their other pitbull named Shirley, a small white terrier named Ruby, and their bulldog named Tank.
In addition to the many dogs Kaley owns, she also owns a farm in Coachella Valley where her horses and farm animals reside. If we had enough money to own a farm for our pets to enjoy, we undoubtedly would so no shame in your animal-loving game Cuoco.
Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff was known for her Disney acting career, so maybe it was Mickey Mouse who started her love of animals? Regardless, Duff made the right decision when rescuing her dogs Momo in 2017 and Lucy in 2018 from our rescue partners over at Love Leo Rescue. Duff took to Instagram and posted the announcement of Lucy’s addition to the family by saying “Hey guys! We adopted an old dog…”
Although Lucy’s age is still a mystery, followers celebrated Duff’s decision on adopting a mature canine since older dogs are more often overlooked at shelters…and by “followers” we meant us…we’re celebrating. Lucy and Momo aren’t the only fur-childern Duff owns. Hilary is also a mom to her new St. Bernard puppy, Winnie and her French Bulldog named Peaches. Keep spreading the love Hilary, one paw at a time.
Ellen DeGeneres
It’s no secret that Ellen DeGeneres loves animals. As a child, she even wanted to grow up and work with animals. Although Ellen doesn’t work with animals today, she takes to Instagram to show off her many furry friends and the obsession she has towards them.
Ellen says “I have three dogs (Wolfie, Augie, and Kid) and three cats (Charlie, George and Chairman).” As though Ellen’s house wasn’t filled with loveable animals, she recently adopted a poodle named Mrs. Wallace Browning. She took to her talk show to spread the news “I’m talking fast because I’m excited”, Degeneres told the crowd. “We rescued a puppy!.” Mrs. Wallace Browning was adopted from a rescue in Studio City, California called Wagmor.
Way to go, Ellen! Keep spreading that rescue fever and let’s get more dogs out of rescue shelters and into loving homes.
Ryan Reynolds
When Ryan Reynolds visited a Houston animal shelter, he wasn’t looking for someone to call his own. “I was looking for a dog for my friend Steve”, he told PEOPLE magazine. He explained how his friend Steve was paralyzed and his dog that helped him with everything had passed away so Steve’s wife called Ryan asking for help in finding a new companion. Focused on finding Steve a new friend, he found him a chocolate lab, but that wasn’t the only dog that caught his attention.
“I saw this big, dumb-looking retriever staring up at me,” he told ABC News in an interview. “And I whispered to him, ‘Hey let’s get the hell out of here’. And he jumped up like he spoke English fluently. He came with me, he jumped into the car, and we’ve been best friends ever since.”
That’s the story of how Reynolds fell in love with his rescue pup Baxter. If that’s not motivation enough for you to adopt a new dog, I don’t know what is.
Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler is known for her comedic genius, but caring for animals is no joke to her. After the death of her beloved pets Tammy and Chunk who she rescued from high-kill shelters, Handler took to Instagram to introduce the newest members of her family. “2 new babies. Bert and Bernice,” she captioned with an adorable photo including the hashtag “#chowrescues.”
When Tammy and Chunk passed, Handler vowed to open her home to more animals in need. Thank you Chelsea for giving so many deserving animals a place to call home. If you are interested in being more like Handler and adopting a rescue pet, check out the many wonderful animals listed on our website.
If this doesn’t prove how celebrities are just as obsessed with their pets as we are, we don’t know what will. They workout with their pets, let them snuggle in bed, and dedicate an entire farm to them…ok that last part is something Cuoco only does but if we could, you know we would too.
We’re sure your rescue pet is ready for the limelight, so tag @welovecuddly with your rescue story. We want to hear from you!
