Microchips are little safety nets meant to bring our pets back to us if they are ever lost. These tiny instruments are invisible to most of us- so much so that we may forgot about regular maintenance and upkeep.
As a safety measure, microchips are only helpful if they are registered and kept up to date. Now, I don’t know about you, but when I move I almost always forget something.

It all gets a little blurry after the fourth or fifth form and I honestly went years without realizing my pet’s microchips needed to be updated too. I just figured after the registration, I was in the clear.
Of course that’s not the case and I am very lucky nothing happened in the years my microchips had outdated information.
There are a few site your pet’s microchips may be registered with, so this is your yearly reminder to check those chips. It could be the thing that prevents a family tragedy.
